Iconic Foods Beloved Only by Baby Boomers
Curly Parsley
There are two kinds of parsley: flat-leaf and curly. The taste of curly parsley is very mild and hard to notice. Because of this, it is mostly used as a decorative garnish. It was most popular in Anonymous in the 1960s, but now flat-leaf parsley is more popular. Curly parsley's rough texture and taste, which was a little like iron, also made it less popular. The herb with the grassy flavor takes longer to chop than the flat-leaf kind. If you don't chop it up very finely, you might have to deal with the unpleasant feeling in your throat that its frizzy leaves cause.
Watergate Salad
The Watergate salad, also known as Pistachio Delight or Shut the Gate salad, is a side dish that became very popular during and after the Watergate scandal. We don't get why anyone would want this "salad." The salad is almost as bad as the scandal. It has whipped topping, crushed pecans, marshmallows, pistachio pudding, and canned pineapple in it. When you think about what's in the salad, it's hard to keep from gagging.
Wonder Bread
Boomers will definitely feel nostalgic when they see this bread. Do you remember the "good old days" when you were happy to eat your American yellow cheese sandwich on white bread? Everyone loved Wonder Bread back then. But people have realized just how little nutritional value it has and how unhealthy it is. Wonder bread is loaded with simple carbs that your body breaks down quickly. At the end of the day, it seems like you've barely eaten; you're loaded with sugar and want more calories.
